Counseling is the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental disorders.  Counseling includes education and discussion in response to mental health concerns. It is focused on honoring the mind-body connection to process trauma, reduce symptoms and remove obstacles to achieve improved wellness and desired outcomes.

Distinct populations related to experience and deliberate focus:

  • College and graduate students

  • Young adults

  • The LGBTQIA2S+ community

  • Polyamorous/non-monogamous individuals

  • Parents and other caregivers

  • Folks struggling with chronic illness

  • Members of the geriatric community

  • People that have medical anxiety and/or have experienced medical trauma

  • Spouses/partners of those affected by addiction

  • Persons experiencing premenstrual dysphoric disorder

Within these populations and others, Mary aims to help anyone heal from times where we feel helpless, hopeless and/or terrified and abandoned. These times can impact us as we move through the present and impact our ability to enjoy our lives.  This can be a lifelong and sometimes nonlinear path. With valuable information that Mary can pass on and your objectives and needs as the priority, you and Mary can examine what thoughts, behaviors and/or emotions are in the way of how you intend to live your life right now. When you have this information, Mary can offer you options that work for you to break free from your past experiences and patterns and other behaviors that you engage in that don't work for you. Mary remains focused on continually gathering the newest information to show up for you in a way that is based in science and on the latest effective methods, all tailored to your learning and communication styles. Most of the time, she is helping folks by using CBT, DBT, holistic psychology, somatic approaches and EMDR. It is usually a combination of these methods, structured in a way that works for you, that end up providing long-lasting progress and relief, enabling you to experience the pleasure of the present moment.

Mary is able to take some insurances (BCBS, UHC, Aetna, Cigna, Oxford and Oscar at this time). See her Headway Profile for more information:
